Petaling Jaya, Malaysia - Satellite City of PJ

Petaling Jaya (referred as PJ by the locals) is a city in the state of Selangor, directly neighbouring Kuala Lumpur. Its history began as a small township in 1952, initially developed by the British colonial administrators and covered only 486 ha (1,200 acres). Since then Petaling Jaya has expanded into a city of more than 650,000 covering 97 sq km (38 sq miles).

Petaling Jaya isn't on the tourist map and I can't compare it with Kuala Lumpur or Penang as a travel destination. Designated a city, but would describe Petaling Jaya as one large town comprising mostly of low rise residential homes, shophouses and a few scattered taller buildings. But Petaling Jaya is a great place to live and there is never a dull moment.
