Port Dickson is fine if you do not have the time to go far to Malaysia's better beaches like Langkawi Island. or Tioman Island. The beaches here are less than ideal for swimming (waters are not clear) but fine for strolling with your foot in the water. Accommodation along beachfront range from the 3 to 5-star resorts and apartments to cheaper stays for the budget traveller
During the school holidays, public holidays and weekends, the beaches tend to get crowded from day trippers coming in the morning and leaving by late afternoon. It is the opposite on weekdays with very few people seen at the beaches. Though all the beaches here are public beaches, those in front of the resorts are never as crowded during the weekends and holidays.
