Lenggong, Malaysia - Tasik (Lake) Raban

Tasik (Lake) Raban is a scenic lake in the Lenggong Valley, situated along the Kuala Kangsar-Grik Highway. The lake is actually part of Tasik Chenderoh, and was formed with the flooding of the Raban River after construction of the Chenderoh Dam. The lake is about 300 km (190 miles) north of Kuala Lumpur and 35 km (22 miles) east of the town of Kuala Kangsar.

Many Malaysians are unfamiliar with Tasik Raban and accommodation here is limited. Therefore the area is not overdeveloped and there is no mass tourism here - a good thing in my opinion. A popular activity is fishing and you can fish either along the banks or hire a small boat into the lake. There are also kayaks for hire and you can explore the villages along the lake.
