Marina Bay, Singapore - At the Mouth of the Singapore River

Marina Bay is an artificial bay formed from land reclamation at the mouth of the Singapore River. The area is Singapore's latest financial, commercial, residential and entertainment centre. The bay is also a freshwater reservoir created by damming the Marina Channel with the construction of the Marina Barrage, and serves as another source of drinking water for Singapore.

Landmarks in Marina Bay include the statute of the Merlion, a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish - just a statue to me but it's Singapore's mascot. Wherever you are in Marina Bay, you'll notice the iconic Marina Bay Sands, an integrated resort built at a cost of USD5.7 billion. Another is the Singapore Flyer, a giant observation wheel.
